CLEAN Factory C Factory Explorer II (Ref. 226570) with Dandong Caliber 3285

CLEAN has launched the Explorer II (Ref. 226570) in black and white dial variants. Its standout feature is the custom-developed Dandong Caliber 3285 — identical in specification to the genuine Rolex Cal. 3285 used in Ref. 126710, yet scaled up to fit the larger 226570 case. Notably, the date window position differs from that of the 126710, and most existing aftermarket 226570 models incorrectly replicate the 126710’s date placement. Due to the Explorer II’s relatively niche status, movement manufacturers were reluctant to invest in a dedicated size variant; CLEAN spent over a year persuading the Dandong factory to undertake this bespoke development. Additional refinements include subtle differences in bezel font weight: the black dial version — emulating vintage originals — features the original slim bezel lettering, while the white dial (based on a 2023 reference) uses the updated bold font. Other distinctions versus Ref. 216570 include: movement upgrade, consistent 42mm case diameter, revised case architecture, modified hands, and adjusted bezel font thickness. The Explorer II remains an exceptionally rare and distinctive model across Rolex’s entire lineup; prior to CLEAN’s release, no truly faithful and high-fidelity replica existed.
